White paper: IoT Next Phase

Internet of Things (IoT) grows rapidly in a wide range of use cases. Billions of devices observe their environment, process information, and store and distribute it. At the same time, companies are seeking the business potential of technologies to generate value added to their customers and new sources of income for themselves. It is virtually impossible to estimate how large sums of money will be spent in the future on IoT technologies and solutions — in any case, even cautious estimates are astronomical. Future IoT solutions aim to reduce costs and improve productivity from a user-centric perspective, and the devices will therefore require new types of features. In addition, there will be an emphasis on sustainability and green perspectives in development.

Experts from Centria University of Applied Sciences, University of Oulu and LUT have dug into the latest twists of IoT by studying the subject and writing a summary to the Allied ICT Finland.
